Assuming I have 2 weeks from acquisition to extend Amendola, I'd like to extend him to 3yr deal. Terms 1k,21,21. Must I do so at this time? Please confirm I am correct on terms.Thanks.

You are incorrect.
In-Season yes. But off-season you can treat Danny like any other player not on a Rookie Contract entering the final year of service. You can wait until the final day that contracts are due before handing out an extension.
